Steven PointThe Honourable Steven L. Point was sworn-in as British Columbia’s 28th Lieutenant Governor on October 1, 2007. In 2005, he was appointed Chief Commissioner of the British Columbia Treaty Commission. His Honour served as an elected Chief of the Skowkale First Nation for 15 years. He also served as the tribal chair of the Stó:lō Nation Government, and he was honoured as Grand Chief by the Chiefs of the Stó:lō Tribal Council. His Honour was appointed a provincial court judge in February 1999. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Law degree from the University College of the Fraser Valley in June 2000 and is a recipient of a National Aboriginal Achievement Award, also in 2000. He received a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1985 and was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1986. Born in Chilliwack, the Lieutenant Governor and his wife, Her Honour Mrs. Gwendolyn Point, have four children and 12 grandchildren.

Dean RohrsDean grew up in Zambia and lived in Malawi, Namibia and South Africa, immigrating to Canada with her family 20 years ago.  Dean joined Rotary in 1989. She is now a member of the Rotary Club of Burnaby. 
 She was District 5040 Governor in 2007-08. She has served on many district and zone committees. She was a GSE Team leader to New Zealand in 1999 and has been an active volunteer on Rotary Foundation projects in South Africa. She is the district trainer and on the Pacific Northwest PETS OPCOM. She served as a Regional Rotary International Membership Coordinator (RRIMC) 2009/2010 for Zone 24 and was appointed a Rotary Coordinator Zone 24 West 2010/2011.

Dean has had a varied career from the early days of being an Operating Room Nurse.  Today with her husband Rhino they now owner manage a company that is involved in soil stabilization during road construction.

 

PDG Chris Offer

Chris OfferChris is a member of the RC of Vancouver Chinatown. His introduction to Rotary was in 1981 as a member of a GSE team to India.  He was Governor in 1999-2000. Chris has served Rotary on many district, zone and international committees. Chris is regularly a presenter and speaker at national and international Rotary conferences.

He retired from the Vancouver Police after 31 years of police service in a wide variety of assignments. He held executive positions for ten years. His degrees are in Criminology and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He was invited by two RI presidents to serve as a training leader at the international assembly.  He served as a membership coordinator for four years and for two years on the RI membership committee. In 2006-07 he was world chair of the Rotary International membership committee.

Chris was appointed chair of RI presidential conferences in 2003 and 2007. He was the Vice Chair of the Los Angeles RI Convention promotion committee. He was a representive at the 2010 Council on Legislation. He is the founding chair of the editorial board of the new Rotary Canada magazine. Chris' commitment to the development of leadership skills in Rotary has focused on expansion of the Rotary Leadership Institute in western Canada and the US west Coast.

Chris has been a Rotary volunteer in the Philippines, Russia and China. Chris is a Rotary Foundation major donor, Bequest Society member and Paul Harris Society member. He is a recipient of the Rotary International Service Above Self Award, Rotary Foundation Meritorious Service Award and Regional Service Award for a Polio Free World. Chris’ wife Penny is the District Governor of District 5040 in 2010-11.

 

PDG Jennifer Jones

Jennifer JonesJennifer is a Past District Governor (2007-08) of District 6400 (Windsor and Essex County, ON - Wayne Monroe and Lenawee Counties, MI). She is a member of the RC of Windsor Roseland.

Jennifer is the President of Media Street Productions Inc., a television production and post-production company. Media Street is pleased to be recognized as a caring corporate citizen and was named “Company of the Year” by the Windsor and District Chamber of Commerce as well as receiving numerous international awards for broadcasting excellence.

In Rotary, she is the North American Coordinator for the Public Image Resource Group, a member of the RI Communication Committee, the Advisory Board for Rotary Canada and the Promotions Committee for the 2011 RI Convention (New Orleans). Jennifer has served as an international volunteer in the Brazilian Amazon, Peru, Haiti, Venezuela and Tanzania.

In April 2008, Jennifer acted as the Host Organizing Chair of the Rotary World Peace Summit. This event brought together leaders from across the globe in a dialogue about practical and realistic means to creating peace in our world. She has been recognized with many awards and recognitions including the YMCA Peace Medallion and Wayne State University’s Peacemaker of the Year Award – a first for a Canadian.

Jennifer is the President of the Board of Directors at Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services. She is the Chair of the Windsor Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce and the 2nd Vice Chair of the Board of Governors at the University of Windsor. Jennifer is married to Nick Krayacich a local family physician. They share a love for many things including travel, cycling, golf and relaxing at their family cottage. They also share a thirst for adventure and reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa in January 2009.

Jennifer and Nick are Paul Harris Fellows, Major Donors, Level Three Charter Members of the Bequest Society and have two Youth Exchange sons from Brazil and Denmark.

 

PDG Rob Martin
Assistant Rotary Regional Foundation Coordinator

Rob Martin Rob is a member of the RC of Burlington, Washington (D5050). Rob works in the field of Adult Rehabilitation. He is the Executive Director for Chinook Enterprises; an organization he founded in 1980. Rob has served on numerous Rotary committees. Rob served as a RI Membership Zone Coordinator and as a Rotary Foundation Major Gifts Advisor. He has served his district as Governor and as District Foundation Chair.


 

PDG Mark Starratt
Assistant Rotary Coordinator


Mark's early involvement in Rotary can be traced back to his teenage years, where he represented the District 5360 in such programs as Adventures in Technology, the 4-way speech competitions and RYLA.

Mark graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce. Working in the financial services industry since 1991, Mark is currently Director, Portfolio Manager and Partner with GMP Private Client LP. In September 2005, Mark was named one of Calgary's Top 40 under 40, as well as receiving a Distinguished Alumni Citation from the University of Alberta for his professional success and commitment to the community which he feels is very important due to the success he has had in his own life.

Mark was inducted into the RC of Calgary Olympic in 1997. In 1999, Mark was on the formation committee of the RC of Calgary Crowchild and became its Charter President. Mark has been an active club and board member since that time. In 2003 he served as District 5360 Membership Chair. In 2005, Mark served as an Assistant Governor. He was governor of District 5360, southern Alberta in 2008-09.

 
PDG Bernie Carrière
Assistant Rotary Regional Foundation Coordinator


Bernie Carrière was born in Sudbury, Ontario and spent his early years in Cornwall and Kingston, Ontario.  He worked in the Cable Television industry for 18 years, both as a Financial Controller and General Manager for Cable Television Systems in Kingston, Ontario, Estevan and Weyburn, Saskatchewan and Lethbridge, Alberta.  He is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), with Sun Life Financial Services of Canada, providing professional financial advice meeting the key needs and issues concerning seniors.

Bernie first joined Rotary in 1987 in Estevan, Saskatchewan and joined the Rotary Club of Lethbridge in 1990 subsequent to an employment transfer.  He has served his club as a Director and Club President in 2003 – 2004 and served as District Governor in 2007 – 2008.  He is multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Rotary Benefactor, and a Rotary Alumni.  He travelled to Lomé, Togo, West Africa in 2004 and participated in a Polio National Immunization Day with fellow Rotarians from France.  As a result of his travels to West Africa, he has implemented service projects with other Clubs and Districts and the Rotary Foundation in West Africa. He continues to serve as President of the Rotary Club of Lethbridge Society, and proud that his club has implemented other service projects in Russia, Fiji, the Ukraine, Burkina Fasso and a host of others. He is also currently serving as Treasurer for Rotary Zone 24, District Trainer for the 2009 – 2011 Rotary Years, District 5360 RLI Coordinator and Zone 24 West Assistant Rotary Regional Foundation Coordinator (ARRFC), and served as GETS Trainer at the 2009 Zone 24 Institute in Edmonton, AB.

 

PDG Bruce Christensen
$200 Million Polio Challenge Coordinator


Bruce is a member of the RC of Fort St. John, BC D5370. He is currently an elected member of the Fort St. John City Council. He serves on a variety local and regional committees and boards. He has served his community as a volunteer with many organizations. His professional background was in the retail glass business in Prince George and Fort St. John.

He served as the Governor of D5370 in 2004-05. In 2010 Bruce served as his districts representative to the Council on Legislation in Chicago.

 

PDG Roger Perry
Regional Foundation Alumni Coordinator


Roger is a member of the RC of Kalamalka. Over the past 40 years, Roger’s career was in Real Estate Appraising throughout Western Canada. Roger joined Rotary in 1992 and was a club president in 1999-2000. He has served District 5060 as a area Foundation Coordinator and AG. He was District Rotary Foundation Chair from 2004 to 2007. He served as Governor in 2008/09. He is district Rotary Foundation Chair 2010-13.

Outside of Rotary he volunteers with Vernon Women’s Transition House Society as a Director 2009/11 and the Vernon Literacy and Youth Initiatives Society as a Director 2009/11.

Roger and Judith grew up on small farms in South-eastern Saskatchewan and have been married 44 years and have three children and six grandchildren.

As Roger was (and currently is again) the District Rotary Foundation Chair, their passion is with the Rotary Foundation and both are multiple Paul Harris Fellows as well as being Benefactors and Bequest Society Members and belong to the Paul Harris Society.
